BrickRecycler.com
Brick Recycler is a non-profit organization that’s working towards spreading smiles and managing the never-ending production of Lego bricks which pose a threat to the environment. They accept every small and large Lego toy donation and give it to the needy children across the globe, including those in Haiti. So, if you have a Lego set at home, consider donating it to Brick Recycler.
Toy Drive
A toy drive is a great platform to get rid of old and unused toys. Get in touch with the church in your locality or the chamber of commerce to find out if there are any toy drives being held nearby. You’re going to have to make some efforts to find one, but in the end, it’s going to be worth it.
Local Fire Department
Not a lot of people know this but fire departments accept toy donations as well. They keep stuffed animals and other nice toys with them at all times in case there is an emergency and a child needs to be comforted. Contact your local fire department now to find out how you can be of service.
HONOR THEIR MEMORY
A fantastic way of coping with the emotional blow of giving away old toys is to honor their memories. Designate a box and store all of the toys which you simply cannot get rid of in it and put it away in the attic. Set a rule that your kids are only allowed to play with them in the designated spot.
ENDING NOTE
There are many ways in which you can get rid of your old toys and declutter your home. The best thing that you can do, though, is to share the joy of amazing toys with others by donating them to the needy.
